Signing the Contract

So Lori and Tiffany insisted that I have a picture taken when I signed my contract. I actually had to sign two copies. I'm not sure if this is copy one or copy two. Madison, ten years old, took this picture and I guess she didn't think my face needed to be in it. I also must mention that my hair isn't straight because of the weather. It's nasty outside and we had to make a trip to Wal-Mart to get some ink for my printer. I guess contract signing isn't that exciting these days with the invention of E-mail and fax machines. Oh well, it was exciting for me. The contract is signed and will soon be on its way to my publisher. Yes, I do love that purple shirt.

Oh, don't look at the wall paneling behind me. The owners before the previous owners thought it was nice. *blank stare* Be sure to buy my book and tell your friends and family to buy it as well so that I can ditch the ducks. Please and thank you.

Contract

Well, it's arrived. I've been waiting for it because this makes this whole business of having my series published real. It couldn't have arrived on a better day since my kids decided to take a good half hour to argue over particle board. It seems that my series will be bigger that I ever imagined and I can't wait to work on it. If anyone can offer to send me a sound proof room, let me know and I'll give you my address. ;-) I have a lot of thinking to do and I don't do well with distractions. I am even excited about the book signings and I'm a very shy person. I think I'm excited because Tiffany will be with me holding my hand the whole way. So with the arrival of this contract comes a whole bunch of jumbled nerves. I feel sick and excited at the same time. As willing as I am to work my rear end off, I still have that fear of not being able to fulfill my end of the deal. I know it's my lack of self confidence speaking, but once it's signed, I have to do it!

So for the other authors out there who have signed the ever so important contract, did you have some of the same feelings? As excited as I am, I'm scared to death to fail.

Positive or Negative?

You Are a Positive Person

No one would accuse you of being too negative!

You're a naturally upbeat and optimistic person.

Like everyone else, you come across things you can't stand every day.

But unlike everyone else, you ignore what annoys you and focus on what uplifts you.

Does this mean I'm annoying?

Thank You So Much Ryan

Since I have nothing better to do while waiting, I'll share this picture with you. I actually like it. The problem is that Ryan is giving me bunny ears and I had no clue.

Wow!

It has just hit me that I have people asking me every day about my book! When it will be out? When and where they can buy it? This really makes me feel great! My sister just asked me about it and said, "tell me exactly which store I can buy it in so that I can tell them you're my sister." hee.. It really makes me feel great to know people are interested! And they want autographed copies! LOL I'm really excited. I feel AS IF (Tiffany said to stop using the word SEEM) I want to go turn cartwheels in my garden!

Waiting...

...I'm sitting here, twiddling my thumbs just waiting on the next chapter that needs to be edited to come back to me. It's very boring. Since I'm not sure what to do during these times, I find it necessary to demand that everyone in the house bring me all of their laundry. I love doing laundry and it keeps me busy and not constantly checking my email. So, uh, what do you do while you're waiting?

Can't Wait

So every now and then I get this feeling of excitement that makes me want to run outside and squeal like a ten year old. I have seen the painted cover picture but cannot legally show it to anyone and so that drives me nuts. I get excited thinking about what my book will actually look like when it's finished. I've had many people tell me that they are excited to buy my book and so, of course, that makes me happy! I have my author website up and running but it's not finished and will take some time to get there. But I'll share it with those who are being kind enough to wait with me. :-D

www.renemorris.com

My domain name, renemorris.com is in the process of being transferred as I type but could take 24-72 hours. Might I say that I DO NOT recommend whois.com? It is almost impossible to get them to answer an email.

You'll notice that on my website I've set up a message forum that I hope my readers (please let me have some readers) can go to and I can talk with them. FUN!! If you would like to try it out, sign up and let me know. I would love testers to help find any bugs. :-D I'm really excited and when I'm not working on edits or the new book, it's nice to pass the time on this blog and working on my website. I think I'm going to change the look of my author site to match this blog. The whole idea was to make it look like Charli and her friends had doodled all over it.

Also, you can read Chapter One if you visit my website. Please keep in mind that this book is written for tweens. ;-)

I should also add that I mention 4'Oclocks in my books because they were in my grandmother's yard in Alabama. I purchased some 4 O'clock seeds the other day and can't wait for them to get here. Does anyone else grow 4'Oclocks? Or have you heard of them?

The Sonshine Girls

The first book in my series, The Sonshine Girls, will be released in October or November of 2008. I can't wait and so I thought I would blog about it from now until then. I'll have my website up and running hopefully by tonight or tomorrow. I would love to have an interactive website one day but for now, I'll have to deal with my plane Jane website with links that you can click to get here and there. I hope to update this blog at least once a week and maybe more. If you're here and reading, let me know!! And I'll go ahead and say, I only proof read a little on my blogs. Ignore typos. This blog is teen and tween safe!!
